Solar Sizing Guide & FAQs
What inverter size (kVA) do I need?
Your inverter size is determined by the total wattage of appliances running simultaneously. For basic households, a 1.5 kVA to 3 kVA system is standard. Homes with refrigerators and a single AC require a 5 kVA system, while larger buildings with multiple ACs require 7.5 kVA, 10 kVA, or 15 kVA setups.
Why does YTECH use 650W panels?
We use premium, high-efficiency 650W Monocrystalline panels. Compared to older 450W panels, 650W modules generate more power in low-light conditions, require less roof space, reduce installation wiring cost, and offer a longer performance lifetime.
How is the solar payback time calculated?
Payback time (ROI) is calculated by comparing your upfront solar system cost with the monthly savings from offsetting utility grid charges and diesel generator fuel costs. Most systems pay for themselves within 2.5 to 5.5 years, followed by 20+ years of free electricity.
Do you offer custom solar engineering?
Yes! While this calculator provides a highly accurate estimate, our COREN-certified engineers conduct physical site audits to design bespoke solar and battery backup solutions tailored to your load patterns and budget. Click 'Get an Exact Quote' to request an audit.
